Classroom Seating

Our classroom has been divided into cultural and seating areas. When we have finished with the café we will be setting up the Louvre Museum and the Paris Opera House. Beanbags are being utilized in the classroom for the students to be comfortable when they are working. Fortunately no one has fallen asleep yet. These have been a big hit, particularly with the boys as they engage more readily in learning.

French Café

We all know what wonderful cooks the French are so this term we are looking at French food.  Not only are we studying French vocabulary for food but we are learning about the culture that is associated with dining in France. We have observed the café lifestyle of the French and set up our own café where each student can order a hot chocolate but they have to order their drink in French.  I was delighted to see some students extend themselves and attempt to converse with the waiter (me) asking several questions and making comments.
